Spring Boat Readiness: Safety & Comfort Check
Before you head out on the water, take a few minutes to review some key safety and comfort items onboard.
1. Inspect Your Life Jackets and Safety Equipment
Check the location and condition of all onboard life vests (PFDs). Make sure you have enough for every passenger, including properly sized options for children. It’s also a good time to inspect your fire extinguisher—confirm it’s in good working order and note the expiration date, as most units need to be replaced every few years.
2. Evaluate Your Flooring and Swim Platform
Take a close look at your boat’s flooring and swim platform. If surfaces are worn, slippery, or developing a musty feel, it may be time to consider an upgrade.
